The main bus station is 300m north of the train station, opposite the huge Celeia shopping mall on Aškičeva ulica. Local buses stop south of the train station on Ulica XIV Divizije.
Intercity buses run frequently from/to Mozirje (€4.10, 50 minutes, 32km), Rogaška Slatina (€4.10, one hour, 34km) and Rogatec (€5.20, 70 minutes, 41km) and Zreče (€3.60, 45 minutes, 29km). Count on up to six buses on weekdays and two at the weekend to Ljubljana (€7.50, 1¾ hours, 77km) and Maribor (€6.70, 1¾ hours, 68km). Other destinations accessible by bus from Celje and their frequencies include Logarska Dolina (€7.20, two hours, 75km), and Murska Sobota (€10.70, two hours, 117km)
For local destinations such as Šempeter (€2.60, 20 minutes, 12km), Šentjur, Prebold and Žalec, go to the bus stops south of the train station on Ulica XIV Divizije.
Celje is a good rail hub. From Ljubljana (€7 to €12.30, 1½ hours, 89km) you can reach Celje up to two dozen times a day by regular train and six times a day by ICS express train.
Celje is also on the line linking Zidani Most (connections to and from Ljubljana and Zagreb) with Maribor (€5.80 to €10.50, one hour, 67km) and the Austrian cities of Graz and Vienna.
A spur line links Celje with Šempeter (€1.85, 15 minutes, 12km) up to 10 times a day Monday to Saturday in each direction. A third line connects Celje with Zabok in Croatia via Rogaška Slatina (€3.45, 50 minutes, 36km), Rogatec and Dobovec. Up to seven trains arrive and depart on weekdays but only a couple at the weekend.
You can use shuttle bus from airport to Ljubljana and then take the bur or train to Celje. You can also rent a car on the airport.
